According to Alzheimer’s Disease International, there are over 55 million people worldwide living with dementia in 2020. This number will almost double every 20 years, reaching 78 million in 2030 and 139 million in 2050.
Symptoms of Dementia are caused by complex changes to the brain. Forgetfulness and a mild loss of cognitive functioning are classic signs that one is developing dementia. Dementia may be the result of brain waste, which drains to authentic lymph vessels (LV) imbedded in the dura (membrane) covering both the brain and spine. These lymph vessels have been shown to be functionally capable of draining waste solutes from the brain. This is one more critical reason to keep the lymphatic drainage system in prime operating condition.
Neurodegenerative diseases are generally age-related. The cause of these diseases is not fully understood however, cleaning out waste materials may be a key strategy in avoiding the trauma of having one of these diseases.
Approximately, 1 in 6 individuals will experience or have one of these neurodegenerative diseases:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Vascular dementia
- Dementia with Lewy bodies
- Fronto-temporal dementia (including Pick’s disease)
Typically, the lifespan of a diagnosed individual from diagnosis is 10 years. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and/or Interstitial fluid (ISF) cleansing of brain waste products from the glymphatic system is receiving increasing interest, as it offers unexplored perspectives with understanding neurodegenerative diseases.
The glymphatic system is involved in clearing metabolic by-products such as amyloid-β from the brain, and its function is believed to lower the risk of developing some of the most common neurodegenerative diseases.
We have developed a cleansing protocol that should assist individuals in the clearance of metabolic by-products in the cerebral envelope. In addition, we have several formulas that work with the lymphatic system to ensure proper waste removal. Contact us here for more information.
